Private Riding Retreat in Costa Rica
with Wendy Murdoch & Laura Plunkett
Join us: February 11-18, 2019
Transform your riding, Relax your mind, and Rejuvenate your body
Imagine an entire week to devote to your riding with daily lessons, trail rides through tropical forests, along rivers, and across beaches, morning yoga to calm your body and mind, and Feldenkrais sessions to discover new ways of moving and riding with ease.
All while enjoying the beauty of Costa Rica, with it's clear blue water, natural sandy beaches, brilliant green jungles, and luxury accommodations at the villas.
Through this whole experience Wendy Murdoch will be your personal riding coach, taking your riding to a new level by breaking through unconscious restrictions and changing old habits and patterns in your riding.
Renowned animal communicator, Laura Plunkett, will guide you in connecting to your intuition and the horses.
Take a break from the busy hustle of daily life and join us at Equisol Holistic Equestrian Retreat Center in Nosara, Costa Rica.
This will be a small, intimate retreat so you can have the full attention of Wendy, Laura, and the Equi-Sol staff.
Spend the entire week focused on what you love and allow this immersive experience to transform your riding as you relax, reflect, and rejuvenate your body in a tropical paradise with delicious healthy food and daily yoga – not to mention meeting some amazing people and horses!
You will get lots of saddle time this week, going on long rides to see waterfalls, private beaches, and exploring the Costa Rican towns and jungles, so walk/trot/canter skills and good riding fitness will be important!

EQUISOL'S HOLISTIC HORSEMANSHIP PHILOSOPHY
For Life and In the Saddle
- Live (and ride) in the present moment! Become a witness to your mind/emotions
- Live soulfully – Be kind, generous, loving, patient, honest and compassionate with yourself, others and your horse (observe the yamas and niyamas)
- Embrace a holistic view of horsemanship, the environment and your community
- Focus more on how you are living your life, not what you do or have
- Be healthy and get organized – Get rid of clutter and be goal oriented
- Find your balance – find ways to balance work, play, relaxation and exercise
- Be flexible – change is inevitable so look for the open door that is created with every door that closes
- Meditate and practice yoga
- RIDE! And sometimes just BE with horses and nature
- Listen to your intuition and your horse – he/she is trying to tell you something very important but you have to figure out the message
- Tread lightly on this planet – recycle, reuse, minimize and respect the environment (e.g., don't disturb wildlife or take souvenirs from the wild such as shells)

About Nosara, Costa Rica
About Nosara
Nosara is a magical place that is best known as a mecca for yoga and surfing enthusiasts that are drawn to the area because of its natural beauty and environmentally conscious community. Nosara is on the Nicoya Peninsula in the State of Guanacaste. This area is known for gorgeous sunsets, consistent waves for surfing and warm water, howler monkeys, mass nestings of olive ridley sea turtles (arribadas) and so much more. There are many reserves in the area, so wildlife is still abundant and development on the beach is very limited. There are no big resorts or chain restaurants. It is the perfect place to reconnect with nature, horses and a slower pace of life.
Getting Here
Nosara is located on the Nicoya Peninsula on the northwest Pacific coast of Costa Rica. We recommend flying into the Liberia airport (LIR) which is about a three hour drive to Nosara. Transportation to and from the Liberia airport is included for all retreats. If you choose to fly into the San Jose airport (SJO), we recommend taking a short commuter flight here via Nature Air.
Nosara is a small town with limited paved roads. The town can be characterized as having two main beach communities (Playa Guiones and Playa Pelada) and the main town of Nosara which is a little more inland.
Our guests stay at The Finca, a 150-acre ranch with two villas, a jungle lodge and stables and pastures below. The Finca is about a ten minute drive to Playa Pelada and a twenty minute drive to Playa Guiones. When guests stay at the Finca, the horses come with us and stay down the hill from the villas.
